I’m going to keep hammering the idea that you MUST create the life you want. You must decide and then create. If you just let it happen, then you’ll get a “just happened to me” life. But, if you go out and create one, you’ll have the life of your dreams. You can try to prove me wrong, but I’m almost 100% sure you won’t be able to!
So, what do you need to do?
Get crystal clear on exactly what you want.
98% of people never create a clear picture of what they want in their life.
What is it that you are after?
What is your ultimate purpose?
If you can get clarity on those questions, and if you can make the answers real and vivid and in your heart, then all the next steps start to become much more apparent. The choices you make have much more meaning.
It all fits in a plan. If you do not make it clear, then the plan remains fuzzy and complicated and every decision is harder. If you can’t figure out what it is you want from life, that’s about what you’ll get. It’s difficult and your answer doesn’t have to be perfect as it will change over time.
If you’re struggling, just think about what you would like to be next. This concept works both in your business and in your life. Get as clear as you can on what exactly it is that you want.
Pretend for a bit that you’ve already accomplished what you wanted.
Envision yourself already in that life or with that accomplishment.
What does it feel like?
Where are you?
What things will you be able to do then that you’re not able to do now?
How does that feel?
Do not blow this off. Don’t think that it’s hocus pocus. You’re activating your subconscious mind and your reticular activating system, and soon you’ll notice things in the environment that you may not have noticed before. You don’t have to understand it. You don’t have to know how electricity works with AC current in order to turn on a light switch. Have faith and trust me a bit. It doesn’t cost anything and will have huge rewards.
Decide now to persist until you succeed.
When we started our healthcare business we had shirts made up that said: “Failure is not an option.”
The thing is, there will be roadblocks along the way. There will be naysayers and haters. That’s why you must decide now that you’ll ignore the noise and keep your mind focused on the prize.
Listen to the still small voice telling you what direction you should take.
There is incredible power in asking the right questions. If you ask yourself a question, your brain will seek out an answer. It’s better than Google. The problem is, the quality of your question determines the quality of the answer. For example, if you ask yourself: “Why am I so lazy?”
Your mind actively seeks out answers to that question and finds them, proving and justifying that you are, indeed, lazy.
On the other hand, if you ask the question: “What do I need to do to have incredible energy all day, every day?”
Your mind and reticular activating system go to work seeking answers to that question. So, ask yourself the proper question of, “How, and with whom, do I succeed?” over and over again.
Take massive action.
You must take massive action when you find the answer to how to get to your dream place. This is where many fail. They figure out what they want, and they may image themselves already there. They may even ask the right questions. But then, they fail to take the actions it takes to be successful.
You can’t dabble or toe dip, you must go all in. Give it all you have.
See what’s working and see what’s not.
Change your approach.
Is the plan the problem? Is it the action? Or is it the monitoring and measurement?
When things go wrong, as they surely will, it’s just a matter of refocusing and not giving up. Ask yourself what’s working, what’s not working, and what you can do differently. Then, make that happen.
Surround yourself with great people.
Who can you take with you on this journey, either in a supporting role, an advisory role, or even a partner?
In any case, you need to find people who can see the same vision you have and are willing to give their all. People need to be all in or they are in the way. You get what you tolerate and some of the people who “love you” will need to go. These people may negatively influence you, and there is simply no time for that. You have a mission to find the people that will help support you and be fiercely loyal to them.
And there you have it! This is my way of creating massive success.
Add these ideas to your planning as you continue this new year. Take the time and get out of the weeds long enough to see the bigger picture. Love those around you, love what you are doing, and love who you are becoming.
