Birthday Surprise
What a wife. I woke up Saturday morning and Pam had packed my suitcase and told me we were going on a trip for my birthday. I had no idea where we were going so I simply got in the truck and started driving. We ended up at the airport but I still had no idea where we were going and she wouldn’t let me check in with her so I never got to see the boarding pass until we were boarding. I found out we were going to Atlanta but I knew that was not the final destination. Finally we ended up in New Orleans!! I love New Orleans. As we walked around the French Quarter, there were brass bands playing, the feel of the architecture and the feel of New Orleans. There truely is no other city in the world quite like it. We did some shopping at our favorite antique store, went to dinner at my favorite restaraunt, the red fish and then partied on bourbon street after a well needed nap. We are having a blast. I am so much more happy with memories like this as presents for my birthday instead of just things. I don’t need anymore things and have finally come to realize that that is not what makes me happy anyway. I love spending time with those I love and creating memories. That is what life is really all about.
